Summer Time Fun

Greta has had a busy summer already with playdates, library, turtle races, potlucks with her friends, picnics, running through the sprinkle, playing in her sandbox, trips to the park, swimming in her pool, dancing at concerts (the Okee Dokee Boys), parades, and playing at the lake.  Here's a few of the pictures Mommy was able to take...

Waving at the parade.

Eating her first "pumper" of the summer.  The other night at supper she asked, "Mommy, can I have one of those 'Ponge Bob' pumpers?"  So now they are no longer push-ups at our house.

Picnic at Glendalough State Park.  (Thanks Oma and Opa for the GoGurts.  She loves them and always mentions how Oma bought them for her.)

Ready for the water.

Showing her big muscles.

First fish of the season.

Greta in her new sandbox Daddy built.  The benches fold down into the sandbox cover.  I must say Mommy's enjoyed having a seat to sit on as well.  We sure do love our Daddy :)

Check-ups

On Monday, Greta and I had our check-ups.  Mine was my 32 week appointment and Greta had her 3-year well child check.
Heart rate was 160's bpm and everything continues to go well.  I'm starting to feel a little more uncomfortable and have decreased energy.

Height: 39 inches (89th percentile)
Weight: 31 lbs, 9 ozs (59th percentile)

More Celebrations

Greta hosted an ice cream social for all of her neighborhood friends last Thursday night.  The kids had fun creating their own sundaes and playing in the backyard.

The three 3-year olds.  Rylan was born June 9th, Quinn June 10th, and Greta June 8th.

Greta also celebrated her birthday at Oma and Opa's house this weekend.  Of course, there was more cake and presents :)

We also celebrated Father's Day with Opa.  Unfortunately, Daddy had to be in Fargo at a NDSU football camp.

Greta helping Opa open his Father's Day cards.

Our final celebration was Henry's construction party for his 3rd birthday.

The highlight of the party was definitely the dirt cake....Delicious, Auntie Sarah!

Turtle Races

It just wouldn't be summer without participating in the Perham Turtle Races.  Unfortunately, Greta lost by a nose, but still had a lot of fun.  Hopefully, we'll be able to race again this summer.

The Big 0-3 and 3-2

I can't believe it's already been three years since my beautiful baby girl was born.  She has brought so much joy and entertainment to my life.  I'm so proud to be your Mommy.  I love you dearly, my Greta!  I'm also so lucky to have a wonderful husband who has always been at my side.  I couldn't ask for a better man to spend my life with.  I love you, Bryan!
Last night, Daddy and I decided to fill Greta's room with balloons while she slept (when she was asked what she wanted for her birthday, she always requested balloons and cake).  Unfortunately, our plan back-fired.  At about 2:00 in the morning I felt a little hand on my foot, "Mommy, there's balloons in my room."  She wasn't too thrilled to find her room a mess with balloons, so we had to kick them out into the hallway for the night.  She did have fun playing with them in the morning, though.

Now that Greta's the big 0-3, she decided she was going to conquer her fear of the big tunnel slide at the lake park.  She went down multiple times all by herself.  Way to go, big girl!

Throwing rocks in the lake.  I'm so glad we had a nice sunny day for our celebrations.

Birthday breakfast at the local bakery.

Opening presents.

We made a trip to the Goose Gang (the newest toy store in town) to pick out a special treat.  Greta picked purple shaping foam and a marble maze.

The birthday kids sharing a cocktail prior to dinner.

And dessert, too.

Let the B-day Celebrations Begin

June is a pretty crazy month around the Gillespie household with birthdays, our anniversary, and Father's Day.  We started out our celebrations today with ice cream cone cupcakes for all of Greta's daycare friends.
