Jolly Old St. Nicholas

So we practiced before we left to go see Santa...
Mommy (aka "Santa"): "Come sit on my lap, Greta, and tell me what you want for Christmas."
Greta: "I want a sticker, and a sucker, and a toy."
Mommy (aka "Santa"):  "That sounds good!  Have you been a good girl this year and did you listen to your Mommy and Daddy?"
Greta:  "Uh huh!"

The actual scenario...
Santa:  "What would you like for Christmas, Greta?"
Greta: smiles
Santa:  "Would you like a monster truck?"
Greta: "Uh huh."
Santa:  "Would you like a BB gun?"
Greta:  "Uh huh."
Santa:  "Would you like an elephant?"
Greta:  "Uh huh."

I'm pretty proud of our little munchin for sitting on Santa's lap.  She sure was excited to go see Santa, but was a little disappointed his reindeer weren't there.

Merry Christmas (Part 1)

We celebrated family Christmas #1 with the Portners and Gramma and Grampa Gillespie last weekend at our house.  We had lots of fun opening presents, eating, and laughing (the 3 stooges is always a classic :))

Let It Snow!

We had a nice Friday a couple weeks ago, so Greta and Maggie played in the snow.  It's crazy how fast you can zip down the slide when it's a little snowy.  G also made her first snow angels and took Maggie for a little sled ride.

First "Momie"

Greta attended her first movie, "A Dolphin Tale" at Perham's delightful Comet theater.  She sat quietly for the first 45 minutes eating her "popporn" and drinking her water, but then thought it was time to go.

Deck the Halls

With the frigid weather, we decided to finish our Christmas decorating this last Sunday.  Greta was a great help with the tree and manger.

Greta's beautiful cluster of ornaments.

Our newest addition...Rosie the elf!  Her first hiding place was in the kitchen light (not the bench like Greta was thinking).  I must say Greta has been a great listener now that she knows Rosie is watching and reporting to Santa :)

Turkey Day

We all had a wonderful Thanksgiving in the Cities with great company and delicious food.
Greta had to take over her Mommy's job and clean the bird this year.

Auntie Sarah had a turkey project for the kids, so here's Ry-Ry hard at work...

...and Greta gluing down her beak.

These two were quite busy with new Christmas puzzles from Oma and Opa.  Greta was very good at managing the pieces, while Henry put the puzzle together.

Watching Santa and his elf feed the reindeer...mesmerizing!

Breakfast with Old Papa...

...and books, too!

Gobble, Gobble

Greta had her last day of "school" on Monday until next year.  We had a party with food, songs, and dancing.

A Trip to the Cities

Greta stayed with her Oma and Opa this past weekend while Mommy attended a class for work.
She met up with Ry-Ry and Sarah at the park.  These two were entranced by a little girl swinging with her daddy.

Aunt Sarah tried to help Greta down the slide, but she wasn't too sure about these BIG slides in Blaine.

Greta and her babies (Jonafin, Abigail, and Joey) watching Oma build a tower.

Babies

Greta has been quite the little mommy lately.  Her two favorite babies are Silas (on the left) and Harlow (on the right).  Mommy usually ends up taking care of Harlow, while Greta takes Silas shopping.

Silas is a baby boy that occasionally comes to daycare.  Not sure where little "Nicole Richie" got the name Harlow, though.

Happy Halloween!

Since Daddy started putting up Christmas decorations and I've been blaring the Christmas music, I thought I better get these Halloween pictures posted before it's too late.  Greta's Halloween consisted of carving pumpkins (which she was not a fan of the "guts"), two daycare parties, trunk or treat at a local church, and trick or treating around the neighborhood.  And that was on top of our previous celebrations of Zoo Boo, the Edina Realty party, the cultural center party, and her "school" party.  At least her costumes got a lot of use this year :)

"-now"

Greta couldn't believe it when she woke up this morning to "-now".  It was everywhere!  On the cars, grass, swingset, table, and even the church park!
On a side note:
Daddy was tired of Greta saying he had "boobies," so he taught her boys have pecs.  The other night I was giving Greta a bath and she said, "Mommy has boobies and Daddy has pecs."  So I asked her, "What does Greta have?"  Her response, "Buttons!"

Halloween Festivities

The Halloween festivites have begun!  Last weekend Greta went to Zoo Boo with her cousin Henry, and this weekend we went to the Cultural Center to partake in Halloween projects.
Our little pirate ready to go.

Project #1: An eyeball.

Project #2: A prune spider.

Project #3: A mummy.

Project #4: A ghost.

Excuse me, Mommy and Daddy, but I think that's my blanket and pajamas!  Greta was not too pleased Mommy and Daddy were wearing "her" footie pajamas.  Greta stayed with her new babysitter, Sara (who she loved!), on Saturday night, while Mommy and Daddy went to their Road Rally.

Off to School

With all of Greta's friends going to school, she wanted to get in on the fun as well.  Luckily, I found out Greta can go to "school" on Monday nights with Mommy.  We went to ECFE where she got to play with new friends, sing songs, have circle time, paint, and have snack!  She had a blast at school, but was a little disappointed she didn't get to ride on a yellow school bus.

Pumpkin Princess

Pumpkin Patch

Grampa and Gramma Gillespie came this weekend, so we headed to Janu's Pumpkin Patch for a morning of fun.  Enjoy the pics!

This is buckshot.  She was found at only 3 days old and was bottle fed by the Janu family.  She was so tame that we were able to pet her.

Harvest Fest

Despite the cold temperatures, we made it to some of the festivities for Harvest Fest.  First stop was the petting zoo.  Greta didn't want to pet any of the animals, but she had fun looking at them.

Mommy and Greta took a ride around town in the Perham Express, while Daddy followed in the van.

All aboard!

Pumpkin bowling.

A victory dance!
