Greta's Four Christmases

CHRISTMAS ONE:

Greta's first Christmas started at home on the 23rd when she got to open her gifts from Mommy and Daddy. As you can see Greta really enjoyed the bows, paper, and ribbon this year.

CHRISTMAS TWO:
Greta met all her Pick/Gillespie relatives when we met in St. Cloud.

CHRISTMAS THREE:
Greta spent time with the Gillespies and swam for the first time as we stayed in a hotel.

CHRISTMAS FOUR:
Greta's final Christmas was spent at her Oma and Opa's house.

What did Santa bring Greta?

it's auntie kathryn here with a guest post. i haven't posted since the day greta was born, so it is such a treat to post again over six months later. i can't even believe what a grown-up girl our little greta is becoming!

greta has been in between daycares, so for the past 3.5 weeks i have had the wonderful opportunity to spend time with my precious little niece.

greta is such a delightful, sweet baby and such a joy to be around! it is impossible to be around her and not fall head-over-heels in love with her! it's amazing what a smart little girl she is and incredible how much she learned and grew while i was there.

a huge 'thank you' to greta's mommy and daddy for letting me stay with them. i will forever remember and cherish the time i was able to spend with her.

so now to the really good stuff - here's what we gals have been up to...



greta and i didn't get out much so in order to socialize with others we went on skype. here is a picture that soon-to-be uncle matthias took of us while we were skyping. greta also loved catching up with cousin henry and auntie sarah.

oh, and we also spent quite a bit of time 'rocking around the christmas tree' in the bjorn over the course of our 3.5 weeks together. the girl loves a good dance party!



we basically had a hug and smoochie fest every single day...whether greta wanted to or not. :)



greta was such a little trooper about letting her auntie dress her up. even if that meant putting her in a dress that acts as more of a shirt and bloomers that are more or less shorts. what can i say? there is nothing cuter than seeing greta in her mommy's vintage apparel.



after calling the local public library and discovering that there weren't any story times appropriate for 6 month-olds (clearly she was puzzled by this), greta and i had to resort to creating our own story time each day.



in between naps, bottles, cereal, and snuggle time, greta and i did have time to debate serious issues - like 'do you think nick and sharon will get back together?'



oh boy, do i love this girlie.

Daddy Boot Camp

Along with making her "B," "D," and "F" sounds, Greta also likes to make this sound...

Christmas Cookies according to Greta

1. Read the directions very carefully, and try not to take a nibble.


2. Stir. Stir. Stir. No drool in the batter!


3. Pop them in the oven, and brush the flour off your face. They are almost ready to eat!


4. Enjoy!

Naughty or Nice?

Greta has been a little spit-fire these days. This is her latest "naughty" trick she's been doing when she eats.

Big Girl Cup

Greta has been practicing drinking out of a big girl cup. Of course, Mommy had to go and pick the biggest cup there is. She usually doesn't fuss when toys are taken away, but she was NOT happy when Mommy tried to take her water away.

Fun with Daddy

Greta loves riding on her Daddy's shoulders. With the height of these two, she's getting pretty close to touching the ceiling.

Six Month Appointment

It's hard to believe our little angel is six months old already. Life with her seems to get better and better. She has such a personality and is a fun little girl. She's started imitating, making the "B" sound, and LOVES spitting. She's a little character and is always the bright spot in my day!

Trip to the Snowy Cities

Miss Greta had another fun weekend visiting her Oma and Opa. On Friday she got to play with her cousin Henry and Oma while Mommy did Christmas shopping. Once again, the Twin Cities got lots of snow with about 20 inches.

Greta had a very big day on Saturday as she got to meet Santa for the first time.

All this anticipation and then she wasn't too sure about Santa. There were no smiles once on Santa's lap, and she even started to cry when the photographer tried to get her to laugh. Well, there's always next year :)

Winter Fun!

Daddy and Mommy have had a difficult time waiting until Christmas to give Greta her gifts. So here she is in her new sled!
