The Backyard

Greta didn't have daycare on Friday, so we had a mommy/daughter day!  We checked out the Backyard (a three-story-high indoor playground), did some fun shopping downtown (no Walmart or Menards), checked out the pet shop, and had lunch at Pizza Hut.  She was the best date!  We'll have to plan another mommy/daughter day soon!

Pedicure

Greta, who hates having her toe nails trimmed, finally let me paint her little piggies.  She did a great job sitting still, as they were painted her favorite color...PINK!

Day at the Museum

Hi Everybody, it's Greta's Tante, Kathryn. I am writing this guest post because my beautiful Sister is one busy Mama.

A few weeks ago Greta, Sarah and I headed to the Minnesota Children's Museum for a fun-filled day. It was a first for all of us, and we certainly had a wonderful day. Greta was a little trooper and as sweet as can be. The three of us always have so much fun when we get together.

Greta kickin' it in gear.

Not the most flattering photo of our little one, but Greta LOVED pressing her face against the smudged up plexiglass in the Habitot room.

Sarah and I are convinced that this was the highlight of Greta's trip to the museum...sliding down the carpet slide. Hold on to your pigtails, Greta, that carpet looks awfully slick. :)

"Hey Dada, can you help me reel this baby in?"

We headed to the Grossology exhibit, where I think Sarah and I enjoyed ourselves more than Greta. It was basically an exhibit dedicated to bodily functions.

Greta's first time painting on an easel. Check out those fine motor skills. Great job, Girl! Unfortunately, her painting wasn't dry by the time we had to leave, which means there is a very valuable piece of artwork lying somewhere in a Minnesota landfill.

Grocery shopping at the local market in the Our World exhibit.

First Haircut

After much consideration, I finally decided it was time for Miss Greta to have a little trim. These luscious locks had not been cut, snipped, or chopped until a couple weeks ago.

The before. I was very nervous Greta would be scared of the whole idea, but much to my surprise she sat like a little angel and didn't move a muscle except when she was told to look down at her tummy.

The precious curls :(

Holding on tight to her dinosaur.

Her beautiful braid.

And finally a smile with her hairstylist, Melanie :) Thanks Oma and Tante for your moral support. The hair looks great!

Happy Easter!

We had a relaxing Easter this year spent at home. It started with an egg hunt hosted by Greta's friend, Quinn (who was born 2 days after Greta) and ended with kite flying :)
After all the practice last weekend, Greta was a pro at finding those plastic eggs.
Just a little excited with her treasures.
It was a pretty good turnout considering it was cold and rainy.
A night of dying Easter eggs. Thanks Auntie Sarah for the whisk idea. It worked great!
The finished product.
The Easter bunny brought bubbles, a kite, and a sandwich kit!
The girls ready for church.
Daddy had to rescue her pearls from a couple pews away, because they "accidentally" shot out of her hand during mass. Ooops!
Greta's first kite flying experience. I think she needs a little more practice as the wind took it from her hands, whipped it across the field and now it continues to fly high in a tree. We hope our family and friends had a blessed Easter as well :)

Creative Cat

Greta has been quite the creative cat lately working on art projects at daycare and with her Auntie Sarah.

Suitcase and passport.

Windsock. Greta spent 30 minutes diligently gluing on the sequence.

A pterodactyl.

A chick (minus the feet).

Sunnies

Greta loves wearing her new "sunnies" she got for the summer! Well, actually she loves to wear anything that makes her look pretty....lip gloss, blush, skirts. The other morning she was running to show "Mannie" how pretty she looked in her new skirt.
